It’s now a done deal the talks over an extended contract with Keith Curle have been concluded with him signing a new deal this week.

An extension confirmed on the Official Website with chairman Andrew Jenkins saying.

‘I am very pleased that Keith has agreed the extension as he has brought a new focus and impetus to the club over the course of the last twelve months.

‘He successfully steered us away from relegation last season and has continued the good work by building a stronger squad and by implementing a realignment of the club’s footballing focus.’

Curle will now remain as the boss of Carlisle until June 2018 having agreed his contract extension with United.

Since he arrived in September 2014, when he replaced former boss Graham Kavanagh who he was sacked as the Carlisle struggles continues following relegation the previous season, Curle made sure last season’s struggles in League 2 ended with United remaining in the Football League.

This season Curle’s overseen an upturn in fortunes at Brunton Park with Carlisle looking to push for promotion back to League 1 with the play-off places very much in sight and likely to be the minimum aim….
