Patrick Brough has left Carlisle and will spent the remainder of this month, at least, with non-league side Carlisle, having recently agreed to leave on loan until 30th January.

The second-year professional, who is under contract until the summer of 2017, has made almost 46 appearances for the club so far but with the 19-year-old in need of this more regularly at the moment this time with the Imps should benefit all concerned.

A quartet of players have already had their future with United secured, until the end of the season at least, with Keith Curle still hopeful of keeping Mark Ellis and Joe Thompson for longer.

Ellis came to the end of the second-month of his loan from Shrewsbury following the defeat to Plymouth on Saturday but the defender is someone Curle’s made it clear he wants to keep with talks ongoing with Bury about striker Hallam Hope too.

Thompson’s a permanent Carlisle player but his short-term deal, signed on a free last summer, expires at the end of the month with the boss revealing talks are ‘ongoing’ with him too with it hoped, despite making only four starts, the 26-year-old will agree to stay at Brunton Park.
