Shrewsbury 2-1 Carlisle

Carlisle’s poor form of late continued as they lost at struggling Shrewsbury on Saturday afternoon, who climb out of the relegation zone following this win.

Against the run of play Shrewsbury broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Jon Taylor (22) scored but Carlisle were soon level. Just past the half hour mark Liam Noble (33) drew the visitors level.

Carlisle again pressured early in the second half but couldn’t breakthrough again so Paul Parry’s (64) strike was enough to give the home side an important 2-1 win and leave The Lilywhites looking nervously over their shoulders as we head into Christmas.
