Portsmouth 1-1 Carlisle

Fratton Park

Carlisle had a lead at Portsmouth on Saturday but had to settle for a point in the end at Fratton Park.

A freekick was the closest that either side came to breaking the deadlock in the first half, Jon-Paul McGovern’s effort for Carlisle coming back off the post.

Having denied Liam Noble with a volley from outside the area Simon Eastwood couldn’t stop Rory Loy (51) from rounding him to slot home the opener early in the second half.

Portsmouth wouldn’t be beaten though and had a penalty to draw themselves level late on. Liam Walker (78) stepped up to stroke home to see the game end in a 1-1 draw.
