Carlisle’s pre-season preparations were rounded off with a game against Glasgow Rangers, played behind closed doors at Murray Park on Saturday. It was a game that Carlisle ran out victorious in however.

The 13th minute proved unlucky for Carlisle with Rangers, against the run of play, opening the scoring and that one-nil lead was taken into the break.

Parity was restored shortly after the break when Kyle Dempsey scored and within minutes Lewis Guy celebrated his contract signing with a goal to put the Cumbrians two-one up.

As the game moved into its closing minutes Rangers drew level as Carlisle failed to clear their lines, however from the restart Carlisle restored the lead as Dempsey scored from distance to give Carlisle a 3-2 win.

Carlisle: Fleming, Thomson, Chisholm (Todd, 46), Thirlwell, Brough, Symington, Lynch, Dempsey, Salmon, Miller, Guy.
Subs – Brass, Hammell, Kavanagh, Gillies, Wallace, Beck.
