That illusive first win of the 2014/15 season still can’t be found as Carlisle were denied on Tuesday night.

Carlisle came away from Whaddon Road with a good point, on the face of it, against Cheltenham Town after a 0-0 draw on Tuesday but it easily could have been more.

We had chances throughout the 90-minutes, Brad Potts and Danny Grainger, both going close but had it not been for Cheltenham ‘keeper Trevor Carson we would have been at least one-nil up at half time but a wonderful reflex save denied debutant Jack Marriott a goal.

Lee Vaughan had Cheltenham’s best first half chance but the deadlock couldn’t be broken.

After the break Carson again produced his best to deny Marriott again as the Ipswich Town loanee raced clear, whereas Koby Arthur almost snatched the win late on for the home side but the game ended as it started, nil-nil.

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire after the game that he felt it was ‘was an entertaining 0-0.’
