Still that first win of the 2014/15 season hasn’t come Carlisle’s way but further signs of improvement have been seen.

Carlisle had a lead but had to be content with a 1-1 draw at Brunton Park against Southend United in the end.

With a goalless first half looming the game saw not one but two goals just before the break.

First to breakthrough was Antony Sweeney (43) as he headed home a Patrick Brough cross for his first goal since signing in the summer, and a goal that looked set to take us into a half time leaf.

Conor Clifford (45) hit back instantly as he drove home from 25-yards to see the sides go into the break level at one-one, which is how the game ended to as our search for a first win this season goes on.
