Josh Gillies isn’t going to play for Carlisle again, at least not this season anyway as he’s returning to Cambridge United on loan until the end of the season.

Gillies, who came to Brunton Park last summer under former boss Greg Abbott, was allowed to go on loan to Cambridge at the end of September for an initial one-month spell that was extended.

Briefly back with the Cumbrians the midfielder has now gone back to the Skrill Conference promotion chasers and will stay until the season ends.

Since his arrival, on a two-year contract from Gateshead last summer, Gillies has made 10 appearance for Carlisle.
