Carlisle United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jason Kennedy in the Easter Weekend draw with Yeovil and then three two victory over Bristol Rovers was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Kennedy was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Carlisle kept up their assault on the Sky Bet League 2 Play-Off places with a win and a draw over Easter. The Cumbrians faced two in-form sides, first drawing 0-0 with Yeovil before defeating Bristol Rovers 3-2 – Kennedy netting the late winner at Brunton Park.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Kennedy for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Trevor Carson (Hartlepool United), George Williams (Barnsley), Brian Wilson (Oldham Athletic), Michael Harriman (Wycombe Wanderers), Kyle Bennett (Portsmouth), Scott Brown (Accrington Stanley), Jason Kennedy (Carlisle United), Gavin Massey (Colchester United), Tom Hopper (Scunthorpe United), Jamille Matt (Plymouth Argyle), Ollie Watkins (Exeter).

Manager – Phil Parkinson (Bradford City).
