Carlisle’s League 2 season continued with a draw with York at Brunton Park on Saturday.

A winning return to Brunton Park was denied Carlisle with York scoring late on in this one-one draw.

Seven-weeks after being forced away due to the Storm Desmond flooding Jason Kennedy’s goal had set up Carlisle for a winning return but the bottom places side secured a point three-minutes from time when Luke Summerfield scored.

These were the other results.

Saturday 23rd January 2016
Bristol Rovers 1-1 Plymouth
Cambridge 1-1 Hartlepool
Carlisle 1-1 York
Exeter 2-1 Accrington
Mansfield 0-2 Luton
Newport 2-2 Dag & Red
Northampton 3-1 Morecambe
Notts County 0-2 Wimbledon
Portsmouth 0-1 Oxford Utd
Stevenage 0-0 Barnet
Wycombe 0-2 Leyton Orient
Yeovil 2-1 Crawley

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Exeter (2-1), Oxford (1-0) and Yeovil (2-1) over Accrington, Portsmouth and Crawley, respectively.

If Exeter are to get back into the play-off picture the two-one win over promotion chasing Accrington, whilst denting their bid, could prove crucial at St James Park.

Oxford’s own automatic promotion bid was given a major boost, with Portsmouth’s suffering a setback, with the U’s going away from Fratton Park with a two-one win to leave them in a strong position in the top three.

At the other end of the table Yeovil’s own Football League survival efforts were aided by a vital two-one win over Crawley at Huish Park.
