Carlisle’s League 2 season continued with a draw against Leyton Orient at Brunton Park on Tuesday.

Having lead then fallen behind a late Michael Raynes equaliser saw Carlisle gained a two-two draw with Leyton Orient.

Macauley Gillesphey’s 17th-minutes freekick, following a foul on Jason Kennedy, had Carlisle ahead but shortly after the break Jay Simpson finished into the corner on 50-minutes to level it up before Ollie Palmer ran away to score what seemed to be the winner in the 72nd-minute.

Carlisle battled on though with Raynes heading home an Alex Gilead cross to earn United a point on 84-minutes keeping us three-points off Orient in seventh with us in 11th.

These were the other results.

Tuesday 1st March 2016
Barnet 1-0 Plymouth
Bristol Rovers 4-1 Hartlepool
Cambridge 1-0 Wycombe
Carlisle 2-2 Leyton Orient
Crawley 2-0 Newport
Exeter 1-1 Portsmouth
Luton 1-0 Morecambe
Northampton 1-1 Wimbledon
Notts County 0-0 Dag & Red
Oxford Utd 4-0 York
Yeovil 1-0 Accrington

Having last week beaten promotion contenders Portsmouth (who drew one-one at Exeter) a week later Barnet (one-nil) did it again at home with automatic promotion chasing Plymouth seen off at the Hive!

For Plymouth though as most of the possible challengers to a top three finish they’re on for couldn’t pick up wins it didn’t impact too much with only the side they seem likely to battle for the runners-up spot behind Northampton (who drew one-one with play-off chasing Wimbledon) Oxford (four-nil) winning heavily against York.

A Hartlepool (four-one) loss at Bristol Rovers, who are fighting to go up, increases the relegation worries Craig Hignett’s side have whereas Yeovil (one-nil) continue to move towards safety with a win at Huish Park against Accrington.
