Former Carlisle striker Karl Hawley is looking to his old club, and some of his former teammates at that, to do his current club Scunthorpe a favour this weekend.

Scunthorpe need something of a miracle really, they need to not only beat Swindon but with a three-goal worse goal difference need Carlisle to beat Colchester heavily really.

Hawley, as he told The News & Star, has been talking to some former teammates and hopes some help can come his sides way: ‘I’m still in contact with a couple of the lads at Carlisle.

‘I’m throwing them a few texts and seeing if they can do us a favour. But obviously they’re professional people and they’re going to go and try and win the game.

‘It’s their last home game and I know how much it means to the fans. They’re not just going to go half-hearted.’

Carlisle will be going for a win over Colchester to end a frustrating season on a high note, if that helps the 31-year-old Hawley and his current club Scunthorpe so be it.
