The sending off of Lee Miller during Carlisle’s heavy defeat at Hartlepool on Saturday is being appealed.

With Carlisle already 2-0 down at the time how much this impacted on matters, maybe the scale of the defeat perhaps, is debatable one thing that is not though is that an appeal against the strikers sending off is being made.

A statement on the official website said: ‘Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that all available evidence has been reviewed following the immediate red card shown to striker Lee Miller during the first half of the game against Hartlepool United on Saturday and that the 1pm deadline for the lodging of an appeal against the decision has been met, despite the club being aware that decisions such as these are difficult to overturn.

‘Club statements and supporting evidence will be submitted on Tuesday [31 JAN] and it is understood that an FA Panel will review the incident and announce their decision later this week.’
