The six first-team members of the Carlisle squad that were out on the town until 4am less than two-days before our game with York last weekend have been given ‘the maximum fine’ for their actions.

York went on to beat us three-nil at Brunton Park that afternoon as we ended the festive period on a miserable note….

As well as this fine ‘certain professional privileges’ have been removed.

It’s still unclear who these players were and if they were drinking with it left to the players involved to come forward if they so wish with managing director John Nixon telling the official website it was up to them to ‘offer an apology’, which if they are they should sooner rather than later.

He said: ‘If individuals felt it right and proper to offer an apology to the supporters publicly, we would encourage them to do so at the earliest opportunity.’

The club are keen to draw a line under this as soon as possible.
