United make their point!

Make no bones about it, Forest are the ‘big guns’ of this league. The biggest club currently at this level, they seemingly have resources aplenty, egos throughout as vast as the legend of Robin Hood and huge expectation from a rather less than believing support.

To add to this, many of their team are currently training for a place in 2012 Olympic Games, as part of the diving team. Never, for some time can I recall witnessing so many players on one side flinging themselves to the floor at every opportunity to claim a foul or worse – a penalty! True to form, the at times witless referee awarded a penalty for the home side, which was beautifully saved by Keiren Westwood in the Blues goal.

Thereafter, Blues dominated and played some quite fantastic football, described by osme of the Forest support as ‘exhilerating’ and ‘the best in this league.’ Sadly, the clinical cutting edge was again missing, Hawley again spurned a great chance to give Blues the lead, when he omitted passing to Gall who had an open goal. At every opportunity, Blues pushed forward, charging down the flanks, but with an inability to return this possession into goals.

Yes, diving apart, Forest weren’t a bad side, but like Bradford City earlier this week, they should really have been put to the sword. It wont be too long before blues do find the back of the net and wallop someone by four, five six or seven goals. This is a good side, a side capable of maintaining a presence at the right end of the League One table, with a few regular goals, who knows what could happen.
