The 2014/15 league 2 season moved into the second weekend with Burton in action again, at home on this occasion.

Carlisle’s woes in league 2 continued as a second successive defeat, and third in all competitions, was suffered when we lost 3-1 at Wycombe Wanderers.

Wycombe had the better of the first half, but none of the ‘keepers were properly tested with Brad Potts having our best chance, and probably of the half, but his shot was deflected wide.

Paris Cowan-Hall blew the most clear cut chance when the winger took down a through ball really well to get away but his shot went over the bar as the half ended goalless.

Wycombe took an early second half lead though when Aaron Pierre (55) headed home Sam Wood cross.

Pat Brough had come on and he set up Potts (57) to volley home and bring us level just two-minutes later.

The home side continued to look the more likely winners and gained a penalty when Sean O’Hanlon handled. Paul Hayes (77) took this and made no mistake to make it two-one with a three one win wrapped up just a few minutes later when Peter Murphy (80) made the most of the space given.

Alex Marrow capped a miserable afternoon when he was sent off with eight-minutes to play for collecting a second yellow card.
