Blues v Cheltenham Town

Once again for the good supporters of Carlisle United it’s time to move on. One of the clubs potentially better players has moved on in a transfer deadline day deal – to Hull City. A striker, he had failed to score in any of Blues competitive fixtures this season, so how much wll he be missed?

With Derek Holmes waiting on the sidelines for so long, apparently he is now fit and ready (recovered from a dead leg injury) to return, should he be selected. United may not have strength in depth, but surely the loss of an underperforming striker isn’t going to affect Blues too much.

With the onus of responsibility back on Karl Hawley now then is the time for him to step up to the challenge and prove his outright ability. Perhaps he was in the shadow of Bridges whilst the latter was here, who knows, now is his time.

As for Cheltenham, well according to all the news coming out of there, they are desperately short of quality for todays game, injuries, suspensions and International call ups aparently leaving them short. I doubt that very much, they will be as fired up for this game as ever. I fully expect a close run affair with both teams in some form.

Three points would be a great boost for the Blues players as well as for the supporters. Its time to pull together and time to move on.
