West Ham loanee Raphael Spiegel has returned to his Premier League parent club with it decided that his month-long loan isn’t going to be extended.

Keith Curle brought the ‘keeper in loan last month and he played a couple of games before dropping back to the bench with Dan Hanford coming back in and getting his chance in Mark Gillespie’s injury enforced absence, which was expected in the first place.

Goalkeeping coach Tony Caig has told the Official Website that he ‘enjoyed his time here and we enjoyed having him here with us’ with him now hopeful that he’ll take this benefit forward and profit from it.

‘I know he gained a lot from being with the first team and he showed a desire and determination from day one to learn, work hard and improve.

‘If he takes that attitude with him going forward he will not go too far wrong.’

I’m assuming, and this is purely assumption, that Caig will again now act as back up for Hanford until Gillespie is fit to return?
