Only one of our second-year youth scholars has been offered a professional deal, six others have been informed they are being released while one other had had a decision ‘delayed by injury.’
Midfielder Connor Hammell, who has been involved in the first-team squad this season, has been offered pro terms by Carlisle but fellow teenagers Jason Blackburn, Jack Elliott, Danny Eccles, Jordan Marshall, Harvey Moyes and Tom White have are all being released with it decided that they aren’t going to made the grade at Brunton Park….
The other, who will have a decision made on his future when he’s fit, is Hammell’s fellow midfielder Frankie Wallace.
Hammell, who Keith Curle obviously rates, has made a couple of first-team appearances this season with the 18-year-old set to have a bright future with the club and quite possibly, if not probably, being more involved next season?
