Keith Curle is continuing to offload players, but he’s finding it difficult to get potential interest in some of the players that he’s looking to move out on loan.
A suggestion has been that the ‘wage demands’ from those we’re looking to move on is causing a problem, in fact the contribution that we’re asking from clubs looking to loan players is causing this? This is a suggestion that Curle’s told the News & Star is far from the truth.
The Carlisle manager feels that it’s more because the players made available, left over from those transfer-listed in November aren’t getting enough scouts coming to look at them as they don’t like coming this far North….
‘No loan has been turned down because of demands on wages. That is probably a disappointing thing for the players who’ve been made available – we haven’t got to that negotiation stage.
‘People have to remember where we were. When you’re bottom of the league, cut adrift, with players available for loan, where are they going to go?
‘And a lot of people don’t send their scouts this far north. It might sound silly but it’s true.
‘Some clubs prefer to watch Carlisle United players away from home because they won’t spend the money on scouts sending them up the M6 but no potential loan transfer has broken down because of financial demands from the club. And none of the players have had the door closed on them here.’
Interesting? Strange that enough players are attracting attention though, some scouts don’t mind coming this far North it appears!
Curle went onto add that anyone that is unhappy needs to talk to him and he’ll see if we can arrange a loan move away, which if this can happen will help him in his quest to bring in loanees of his own too….
