Kidderminster fielded a full strength side as they desperately sought a place in the Northern Area final. From the kick off there was just one team in it, Carlisle pushed forward at every opportunity but incredibly couldnt breech the Harriers defence until the 87th minute. Then it was substitute Glenn Murray who fired home his first goal in four months to give the Cumbrians a deserved 1-0 victory. The game was watched by a crowd of 4,432.

In the other Northern semi final Macclesfield beat Hereford United 2-0 at Moss Rose to take their place as Carlisle’s opponents in this years area final.

In the Southern area Cheltenham lost to Colchester United 1-0 and Swansea scraped through on penalties against Walsall 6-5, meaning a Swansea Colchester area final.
