Carlisle United tonight have a brief respite from league two business as they look to progress further in the LDV Vans Trophy. Tonights opposition comes in the shape of National Conference side, Kidderminster Harriers.

The last time these teams met in this competition it was Harriers who came out on top, winning a tie 2-1 at Aggborough that was the 2000-01 season and since then the fortunes of both clubs have changed. This evenings game will give United boss Paul Simpson the opportunity to play his latest acquisition, Mark Rivers.

Harriers have a full strength squad to choose from and visit Brunton Park after back to back wins in the Conference. The Aggborough outfit believe that United can be beaten this evening, one quote actually stating that Blues will be more preoccupied with the league as opposed to the LDV Vans Trophy! Though just why they should think that when United are the most successful club in the competitions history is somewhat baffling?

Tonights other Northern area semi final is between Macclesfield Town and Hereford United. The Southern semi final fixtures also taking place this evening are; Cheltenham v Colchester and Swansea v Walsall.
