UNITED AIM TO RAILROAD ORIENT

Neither side has serious injury worries, indeed Orient boss Martin Ling is conifdent that his full strength squad can easily push Carlisle from the top of the league.

Ling who can hardly be described as one who keeps his own counsel has come out and said the the Blues ‘struggled in parts’ of the game at Boston (which Carlisle actually won 5-0). As if that wasn’t enough he then adds that we blow hot and cold away from home! Sadly for Mr Ling there is little to suggest that he is correct on either point. United’s away form: Played 15, won seven, drawn four, and lost four hardly depicts inconsistency. For their part Orient have failed to win nine of their fifteen home games, losing six times at Brisbane Road.

The game itself is likely to witnessed by Orients biggest home league crowd for several years and there may well be around 1300 United fans there too. They talk about ‘sixpointers’, well this definitely is one such game, neither side will want to lose or drop points so it could well turn into something of a stalemate. but with the likes of Bridges, Hawley and Holmes on the pitch United have the ability to comfortably dismiss the Orient challenge. We will all be that bit wiser come 5pm this adfternoon. Hopefully for United with a further three points to add to our league statistics.

Elsewhere, David Beharall has signed for struggling Stockport County.
