It’s the first of three meetings between the teams who also face each other in the Northern Area final of the LDV Vans Trophy next month. United do not have a superb record at Moss Rose and will be looking to take maximum points from a game which on paper they can win.
Macc though are a much improved side and have climbed away from the relegation zone of League Two and are without doubt one oft he most improved sides in the league at present.

Blues will be without defender Paul Arnison who misses the game through suspension, Mark Rivers should be in contention for a first team place. Simmo has a virtual full pack of cards to play on Sunday and will be hoping that his sides continued form will see them further pressurising the sides at the top of the league, indeed, if results go right United could well be sitting proudly at the top on Sunday afternoon.

A bigger than normal crowd is expected at the game which represents fans day at Macclesfield, so the atmosphere should be better than normal.
