CHESTER – REALITY CHECK

United boss – Paul Simpson, who has this week been linked with just about everybody else, to the vacant managerial position at Derby County, has nothing but praise for tomorrows league two opponents. Describing them (after the seasons earlier encounter in September which United lost 2-0) as ‘unbeatable’ at the time, they have seemingly lost their way – big time.
Managed by Keith Curle, City come to Brunton Park with much self belief and something to prove. The Chester boss believes they should be challenging up there at the top with Carlisle and will not take to his side being second best tomorrow.
United meanwhile welcome back defender Paul Arnison and will be hoping to put things right after last weekends debacle at Moss rose – Macclesfield when Blues slumped to a 3-0 defeat without so much as a whimper. Tomorrows games provides the ideal opportunity for the team to put themselves back in the real world and out of the prima donna – expectancy of success mode. Hopefully the players will now realise that success does not come easily, it has to be worked for week in week out. A chance to go top of the league was temporarily lost last weekend, this weekend it seems – with the current form of teams such as Orient and Northampton town that all three points will be needed to stay in the automatic play off places.
