Carlisle’s three-match winning streak is now over as the visit to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon proved one game too many.

Try as we might we couldn’t overturn an early Plymouth lead as we slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Home Park.

We had Troy Archibald-Henville to thank for clearing an effort from Lewis Alessandra, set up by top goalscorer Rueben Reid, early on before Alessandra (15) turned home a cross from Dominic Blizzard to make it one-nil.

Bobby Reid went close to extending the home sides lead with Deane Smalley forcing our ‘keeper Dan Hanford into a another save, with Hanford also denying Alessandra another as they threatened more.

Late on Archibald-Henville, clearing off the line previously, denied Blizzard with his header heading in the right direction before we saw Curtis Nelson clear of the line with a follow up from Brad Potts also cleared off the line by Lee Cox.
